Ingredients
Salad 1 full loaf of sourdough bread cut into 3 inch slices
2 cup spring salad mix
¼ cup toasted pecans
¼ cup sliced red onion
½ cup crumbled bleu cheese
½ cup thin sliced grapefruit
1 cup diced beets
4 slices Gracie’s shaken bacon!
Vinaigrette
¼ cup grapefruit juice
2 tbsp white vinegar
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp freshly ground pepper
½ cup olive oil
Preparation
Cut the bread slices and scoop out the dough to create a sleeve. Brush inside and out with melted butter. Place in 350 oven until crispy for about 7 minutes. Have a sip of wine. In a bowl, toss salad ingredients together with the exception of the bleu cheese and bacon. Whisk the vinaigrette ingredients together, then stream in the oil slowly whisking the entire time to create an emulsion. Toss salad lightly. Have a sip of wine. Place the crispy bread on plate and fill with the salad. Top with bleu cheese and garnish with 2 whole pieces of bacon. He Said: Like the Marquis himself, this salad is bound in cuffs.
